Smart Hospital Concepts
Medical institutions play an important role in realizing a society in which people can live healthy and long lives. However, there are a variety of issues facing medical institutions. For example, there is a need for reforming doctors’ long working hours and working styles, a shortage of human resources amid the shrinking working population, management issues facing many healthcare institutions, and measures to combat infectious diseases such as social distancing today.
In response to these challenges faced by medical institutions, Solasto will launch a new business called the “Smart Hospital Business,” which combines the strengths of “medical administration know-how” and “people” that it has cultivated over 55 years since its foundation with ICT, and provide a service called “iisy” that supports the conversion of medical institutions to DXs. In fiscal 2021, we will begin offering remote medical administration services, which remotely handles medical receipts operations, calculations, reception, reservations, and inquiries.
Opportunities in collaborating medical, elderly care and data
As an operator of the Medical Outsourcing Business and Elderly Care Business, we will take on the challenge of realizing “integrated community care system” and contributing to the extension of healthy life expectancy and the rationalization of social security expenses by linking healthcare and elderly care data.
The Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare is promoting the establishment of the “integrated community care system” by 2025, when the baby boomer generation will be aged 75 years or older. The purpose of the system is to maintain the dignity of the elderly and support their independent lives. The system aims to provide comprehensive support and services within local communities so that people can continue to live their lives in as familiar areas as possible.
Solasto believes that data collaboration among healthcare institutions and elderly care services will be a key factor in achieving this goal.
In addition, we believe that by utilizing big data from healthcare and elderly care, we can contribute to extending healthy life expectancy and curbing social security costs through preventive medicine and prevention elderly care.
Measures to realize scientific elderly care services
Promoting diversity
Solasto has established a diversity policy and promotes 6 types of diversity with the aim of creating a workplace in which each of its approximately 30,000 employees can participate in their work while reflecting their personalities and characteristics.
Particularly for Solasto, where approximately 90% of its employees are female, the “promotion of the active use of female employees” is an important theme, and we aim to provide “flexible working style and female employee friendly workplace.“
With regard to support for sexual minorities, we are developing various systems, such as the same-sex partnership system, which recognizes employees’ same-sex partners as their spouses and applies various systems such as special leave, childcare and elderly care leave, and condolence money. We also introduced the system that allows employees to take special paid leaves for “sex-matched surgery” and “hormonal treatment.”
