Human Rights

Basic Approach and Policies

The Solasto Group believes that its people are the Group’s biggest asset. To provide healthcare, elderly care and childcare, about 30,000 employees interact with hospital patients and the users of elderly care and childcare services every day, so we positioned respect for human rights as an important managerial issue and formulated the Solasto Group Human Rights Policy in December 2024. We ask that all stakeholders understand and support the Policy and thoroughly respect human rights in compliance with the Policy.

Solasto Group Human Rights Policy

The Solasto Group has formulated the following Solasto Group Human Rights Policy (the “Policy”) aiming to promote business activities that respect the human rights of all stakeholders based on the Group’s responsibilities and its awareness of the issues as a provider of healthcare, elderly care, childcare and other services that are indispensable to society.

  • Compliance with human rights standards and principles
The Solasto Group has formulated the Policy and promotes initiatives respecting human rights in compliance with guidelines such as the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises published by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development regarding human rights as defined in the International Bill of Human Rights, the ILO Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work and other guidelines.

Further, we remain aware of the possibility that the human rights environment may change over time and we will review our human rights due diligence efforts periodically.

Promotion Structure

The Solasto Group created the ESG Project which is led by its president. The project plays roles in supporting the promotion and implementation of specific initiatives and the disclosure of information related to ESG issues. Our initiatives based on our Human Rights Policy, a major one being the ESG Project, are handled in cooperation with the divisions concerned, including the business and personnel divisions. The progress of the initiatives based on the Human Rights Policy and important human rights issues are periodically (at least once a year) reported to the Board of Directors.

Human Rights Due Diligence

The Solasto Group implements human rights due diligence aiming to respect the human rights of all stakeholders and contribute to the realization of a sustainable society. In compliance with international human rights standards, we will strengthen efforts to identify and evaluate risks and prevent the infringement of human rights throughout our business activities. In the event that human rights have been infringed, we will promptly and appropriately take corrective measure to help the victims.
